MRI FAQs

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic imaging technique to see detailed picture of the internal organs and muscle tissue in the body. This non-invasive technique allows Dr. Sachar to examine the muscle tissue and skeletal system in high-resolution to diagnose a multitude of problems.

For most insurance policies, an MRI is a coverable benefit on your plan so long as medically necessary. Once you’ve determined the location of your MRI, the Steadman Clinic Insurance Authorization team will contact your insurance and obtain any authorization needed and confirm the MRI is a covered benefit. To check status of your MRI authorization, you may call 970-479-5886.

Cost will vary by location and insurance coverage. Self-Pay costs are often available by calling the location or may be found on the performing locations website. Keep in mind that the self-pay cost is always greater than the actual patient responsibility as you receive a discount for having a contracted insurance policy with the performing location. If you are unsure what your insurance covers for an MRI, you may contact Member Services (phone number usually listed on the back of your insurance card), or you may call 970-476-1100 and ask for our imaging insurance authorization team to review your benefit policy.

Dr. Sachar understands many patients travel from all over to see him at the Steadman Clinic. We work with each individual patient to ease those travel needs. MRI reviews can be setup either in person or through a Virtual Visit. Virtual Visits are a secure, simple way to talk directly with your doctor, without traveling to an in-person visit.
